Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Paramedic/EMT to support Emergency Services under direct supervision. The role focuses on routine patient care, administering basic procedures, and assisting the RN in charge.

Responsibilities include documentation, patient education, treatment administration, and collaboration with the care team. This is a temporary part-time assignment lasting about three months, with hours and days varying.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months (1,040 hours) experience in Hospital Acute Care/ED as EMT or Paramedic.
• Good verbal and written communications skills required.
• Knowledge of PC or mainframe computer system (or will train).

Responsibilities

• Complete documentation and act as information source for patients.
• Adhere to standards of nursing care and promote teamwork.
• Instruct patients on general health and home care procedures.
• Explain physician orders to patient or parent and obtain consent as needed.
• Perform emergency procedures including CPR and wound care.
• Prepare and position patients for procedures and transport as needed.
• Record vital signs, collect specimens, and assist in treatments.
