Job summary

V2X in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking a Temporary Electronics Worker I (2nd shift) to support the Modernization and Sustainment site. The position runs on a temporary basis for up to six months with benefits eligible.

Responsibilities include assembling, disassembling, reworking, and repairing electronic assemblies such as PCBs, cables, chassis, and harnesses; inspecting, testing, and preparing for certification while following IPC standards and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience in electronic assembly, rework and repair preferred.
• Ability to read process routings, wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Proficient in soldering and cable assembly techniques.
• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-610, IPC-620, IPC-7711, J-STD-001) preferred.
• Basic computer skills and data collection for SPC.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, disassemble, rework, and repair electronic assemblies (PCB, wiring, chassis, harnesses).
• Stuff and assemble PCBs with through-hole and surface mount components; modify and replace parts.
• Prepare wires and cables, perform wiring, crimping, soldering, and harness assembly.
• Assemble cabinets, chassis, consoles, integrate components, and perform rack assembly.
• Perform mechanical assembly tasks including potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, bonding.
• Follow instructions, process routings, wiring diagrams, and production planning.
• Solder through-hole and surface mount; perform touch-up.
• Operate machines for soldering, desoldering, pressing, shaping, winding, placing components.
• Conduct in-process self-checks and prepare assemblies for inspection and testing.
• May assist with conformal coating, potting, encapsulating, and other intermediate assembly.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow safety procedures.

V2X is hiring! We are looking for a Temporary Electronics Worker I (2nd shift) to support the Modernization and Sustainment site in Indianapolis, Indiana. 2nd shift hours can start anytime between 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

This position is on a temporary basis for up to six months with potential to be hired regular full-time. Position is benefits eligible.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of tasks related to the assembly, disassembly, rework, and repair of electronic assemblies, including:

• Circuit Card Assembly: Stuffing and assembling printed circuit boards (PCBs) with through-hole and surface mount components. Performing modifications, upgrades, and component replacement on PCBs.
• Cable and Harness Assembly: Preparing wires and cables, performing point-to-point wiring, crimping, soldering, and assembling cable harnesses.
• Chassis Assembly: Assembling cabinets, chassis, and consoles, integrating electronic components, and performing rack assembly.
• Mechanical Assembly: Potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follows detailed written and verbal instructions, process routings, wiring diagrams, and production planning documents.
• Performs board and component preparation, soldering (both through-hole and surface mount), and touch-up.
• Operates machines for soldering, desoldering, pressing, shaping, winding, and placing components.
• Conducts in-process self-checks and prepares assemblies for formal inspection and testing.
• May assist with conformal coating, potting, encapsulating, and other intermediate assembly tasks.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area and follows safety procedures.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret process routings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Proficient in soldering and cable assembly techniques.
• Knowledge of electronic component identification and handling.
• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-610, IPC-620, IPC-7711, J-STD-001) is preferred.
• Basic computer skills and data collection for Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two years of experience in electronic assembly, rework, and repair is preferred.

Physical and Other Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Good eyesight and color vision.
• May require sitting, standing, kneeling, or squatting for extended periods.
• May be exposed to solvents, flux, thinners, and other cleaning compounds.
• May require the use of visual aids (magnification lenses, microscopes) and personal safety equipment.
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance may be required.
• Must be able to achieve and maintain appropriate solder certifications.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.
