Job summary

Lindt in California is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Technician to collect, organize, and maintain EHS data, perform inspections, and support regulatory compliance across our site. You will inspect equipment, track corrective actions, and assist with lockout/tagout and permit-to-work processes.

Ideal candidates will have 1–3 years in EHS roles, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical coursework preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in EHS, facilities, manufacturing, maintenance, quality or related roles preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to maintain accurate spreadsheets, logs and records.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA/Cal/OSHA, EPA, hazard communication, PPE and safety requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain logs, labels, and disposal records for hazardous and universal waste.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Collect, enter, organize, and maintain EHS data, inspection records, training documentation, waste records, incident information, and other required compliance documents in applicable company systems. Conduct routine facility inspections, safety walkthroughs, housekeeping checks, and environmental observations to identify hazards, document findings, and support corrective action tracking. Inspect, stock, and maintain assigned safety equipment and supplies, including emergency eyewash and shower stations, spill kits, first aid supplies, PPE stations, emergency response materials, and related inspection logs. Monitor specific workplace hazards such as blocked exits, machine guarding concerns, chemical storage, spill risks, walking-working surface conditions, powered industrial truck areas, noise exposure concerns, heat illness prevention controls, and other assigned EHS focus areas. Support job hazard analyses, workplace risk assessments, ergonomic observations, and other risk identification activities by gathering field data, documenting observations, and tracking recommended controls. Support Lockout/Tagout procedure development and updates by collecting equipment-specific information, taking field notes and photos, verifying energy isolation points with qualified personnel, organizing procedure files, and assisting with periodic review documentation. Assist with confined space program support by reviewing confined space procedures, entry documentation, hazard assessments, signage, equipment availability, atmospheric monitoring records, and rescue or emergency response information for completeness and alignment with site requirements. Review permit-to-work activities and supporting documentation for assigned work, including hot work, confined space entry, elevated work, line break, energized work, contractor work, and other controlled activities, to confirm required forms, approvals, precautions, and closeout steps are completed. Document gaps and follow-up items identified during LOTO procedure reviews, confined space reviews, permit-to-work checks, field verifications, and risk assessments, and communicate required actions to the appropriate EHS leader, supervisor, or responsible department. Assist with local regulatory compliance tasks related to Cal/OSHA, Cal EPA, local fire authority, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, medical waste, and other applicable safety and environmental requirements. Track hazardous waste, medical waste, universal waste, and other regulated waste activities by maintaining logs, labels, storage area inspections, disposal records, manifests, and supporting documentation. Support incident reporting, near miss documentation, corrective action follow-up, and basic fact-gathering for safety and environmental events while ensuring information is recorded accurately and escalated appropriately. Assist with EHS training coordination by preparing materials, tracking attendance, maintaining sign-in sheets, updating training records, and supporting employee communication of routine safety topics. Maintain EHS inspection calendars, equipment check schedules, compliance trackers, and action item logs to help ensure required tasks are completed on time. Provide field support during audits, agency visits, emergency drills, safety committee activities, and other assigned EHS program activities. Communicate observed hazards, equipment deficiencies, inspection findings, and compliance concerns to the appropriate EHS leader, supervisor, or department contact for timely resolution. Maintain general knowledge of machine safety, Lockout/Tagout, chemical safety, emergency response, hazard communication, PPE, ergonomics, environmental awareness, and other core EHS topics applicable to the site. Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or technical coursework in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Technology, Facilities, or a related field preferred. One to three years of experience in EHS, facilities, manufacturing, maintenance, quality, compliance, or another role involving inspections, documentation, data collection, or regulated workplace activities preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and able to maintain accurate spreadsheets, logs, checklists, and electronic records. Basic knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, Cal EPA, hazardous waste, stormwater, wastewater, hazard communication, PPE, emergency response, and general workplace safety requirements preferred. Strong attention to detail with the ability to observe conditions in the field, document findings clearly, and follow up on assigned action items. Ability to communicate professionally with employees, supervisors, contractors, and EHS leaders regarding inspection of findings, equipment needs, and compliance concerns. Preferred experience includes performing routine inspections, maintaining records, collecting field data, supporting corrective actions, and following established safety or environmental procedures in a manufacturing, warehouse, laboratory, or facility environment.

Pay: $30-$35/hour
