This recruitment is for Temporary Custodian and Temporary Senior Custodian positions through UCI's internal temporary staffing service. This position can be based out of the UC Irvine campus or any UCI Health facility throughout Orange County and Southern Los Angeles County.

Temporary Custodian

Under the supervision of the Sr. Custodial Supervisor or Assistant Custodial Supervisor the incumbent is responsible for the cleaning of facilities. These duties will include, but are not limited to daily floor care, dusting, bathroom cleaning and sanitation, kitchen cleaning, cleaning of fixtures and furniture, interior trash removal, window cleaning, and additional tasks as necessary to ensure all facilities are maintained at a high level of cleanliness.

Temporary Senior Custodian

All the above in addition to skilled cleaning and, makes recommendations to improve processes and/or procedures. Skilled cleaning include pressure washing, buffing/waxing hard floors, deep cleaning carpets. Drives university vehicles.

Your Role on the Team

Covered under University series concepts/job specification for Custodian. Under supervision, incumbents perform unskilled or semiskilled cleaning, housekeeping or general maintenance. Performs individually or as part of a team. Incumbents may experience a varying degree of contact with the public depending on the nature, location and assigned hours of work.

Pay Rate:$20.05/hr - $20.46/hr

Required:

• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English
• Less than 1 year Temp Custodian: Custodial or related cleaning experience
• 1-3 years Temp Sr. Custodian: custodial/housekeeping experience

TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT

This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements. Certain temporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver’s License for driving university vehicles.

The majority of our temporary positions are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment. Comprehensive benefits options are also available for temporary employees, including paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave.
