Job summary

Hood River Valley High School is seeking a Temporary CTE Agriculture Teacher to cover a 1.0 FTE assignment from November 30, 2026, through March 19, 2027, then transition to 0.5 FTE through June 21, 2027. Courses include Horticulture, Animal Science, and Agricultural Leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
Possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Oregon teaching license with endorsement for this assignment.
Experience with Future Farmers of America (FFA) preferred.
Experience working with English Language Learners is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide engaging and effective classroom management for students.
Plan daily lessons and units aligned with industry and district initiatives.
Maintain tools and equipment inventory and safety protocols.
Coordinate internships and supervised experiences for students.
Collaborate with CTE instructors and participate in regional and state activities.
Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom and laboratory environment.
