Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) to deliver essential health services to the offender population in a structured healthcare setting.

This temporary 11-month position with a 31-day break offers statewide opportunities and flexible shift schedules. Candidates must complete a CMA/RMA program and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus 1 year of related work experience.
• Completion and certification of a two-year medical assisting program as CMA or RMA.
• Background check required to be eligible for this position.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments accurately.
• Transcribe orders, order, store, and track medications and supplies.
• Document medication administration and monitor effects.
• Reinforce patient education provided by nurses and physicians.
