Position Overview

Novelis is one of the world leaders in aluminum recycling and rolling and a leading sustainable aluminum solutions provider. Driven by our purpose of shaping a sustainable world together, we work alongside our customers to provide innovative solutions to the aerospace, automotive, beverage packaging and specialty markets. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Novelis has approximately 13,000 employees in 32 operating facilities on 4 continents.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Procurement Project Analyst (Contract) is responsible for analyzing supplier and Novelis operational data to identify total cost of ownership opportunities, support cost savings initiatives, and help advance Vision 3x30 ROIC objectives. The role evaluates plant data, conducts technical benchmarking, develops should-cost models for key and critical suppliers, and manages supplier quality KPI reporting to support risk mitigation and continuous improvement within procurement. The role operates in a complex manufacturing procurement environment where accurate data analysis, technical understanding, and cross-functional collaboration are required to identify cost reduction, supplier quality, and risk mitigation opportunities. The incumbent gathers and connects data from multiple internal and external sources, including ERP systems, ETQ, data lake sources, supplier inputs, and plant-level operational information.

*This is a long-term contract position with an anticipated assignment timeframe of December 2026 through March 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Data Collection, Integration, and Analysis
  • Identify, collect, and connect data from multiple sources, including ERPs, ETQ, the data lake, and other relevant systems. Use this data to analyze plant performance, supplier inputs, and total cost of ownership opportunities.
  • Technical Benchmarking and Opportunity Identification
  • Collect external data and perform technical comparisons and benchmarking across plants to identify efficiencies, cost reduction opportunities, and risk mitigation actions. Validate opportunities through data-driven analysis and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Should-Cost Modeling
  • Work with collaborators to identify relevant suppliers for should-cost model development. Define the scope and purpose of each model, build models using cost equations, analyze cost drivers, break down costs into categories, and allocate costs to specific processes.
  • Cost Reduction and Supplier Risk Analysis
  • Validate should-cost models using real-world data and interpret results to identify potential price, specification, scope, or cost reduction opportunities. Support procurement and operations in identifying supplier quality and supply risk mitigation opportunities.
  • Dashboard, KPI, and Reporting Development
  • Identify relevant KPIs with input from operations and procurement. Create manual dashboards, implement automated models, and analyze dashboard outputs to identify supplier risk mitigation opportunities.
  • Communication and Leadership Reporting
  • Create reports using Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, and other tools to communicate insights, drive continuous improvement, and report findings to collaborators and leadership. Prepare executive summaries and present information clearly and effectively.
  • RFA Process Support
  • Develop full knowledge of the Novelis RFA process and template. Create relevant RFAs based on data analysis activities and support technical evaluation of recommendations through data-driven analysis and presentations to leadership.
  • This role is expected to independently conduct detailed data analysis, develop technical models, validate opportunities, and recommend actions based on data-driven findings. The role does not have final decision-making authority over supplier selection, commercial commitments, or budget approval; however, it provides critical analytical input to support procurement, operations, and leadership decisions.
  • The role solves problems by collecting and connecting data from multiple sources, analyzing cost drivers, validating models with real-world data, and interpreting results to identify cost reduction and risk mitigation opportunities. The role requires the ability to convert technical, operational, and supplier data into practical recommendations for procurement and leadership decision-making.
  • The role is accountable for producing accurate analysis, reliable cost models, relevant dashboards, and actionable recommendations that support procurement savings, risk mitigation, supplier quality visibility, and continuous improvement. The role also supports the creation of RFAs and leadership presentations based on data analysis activities.
  • This role will report to the Project Manager, Senior Manager for NNA Procurement, and will work closely with procurement, operations, plant teams, leadership, and data and analytics partners. The successful candidate will collaborate across functions to identify supplier and cost improvement opportunities, validate plant-level data, support should-cost modeling, establish relevant KPIs, develop RFAs, and communicate findings and recommendations to leadership. The role will also engage with suppliers and external benchmarking sources as needed to support supplier quality reviews, cost-driver analysis, technical comparisons, and continuous improvement initiatives.
