Job summary

GIGATEC Engineering is seeking a TEMPEST specialist to join our on-site team in New York. You will perform TEMPEST testing, assess emanation security, and provide engineering recommendations to strengthen the security of government systems. The role requires a Top Secret clearance and polygraph completion, and applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

We do not sponsor visas. You’ll collaborate with TEMPEST SME's, vendors, and customer teams to deliver mission-critical results on-site.

Qualifications

• TEMPEST testing, design, or engineering.
• Record test results and concerns.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve EMSEC vulnerabilities.
• Work with TEMPEST vendors.
• Perform ambient test setup measurements.
• Capture and analyze qualification data and write reports.
• Evaluate products per NSITSSAM requirements.
• Verify TESTEST requirements by the CTTA.
• Attend TEM with crypto device users, CSCM and vendors.
• Test certified cryptographic equipment to discover vulnerabilities.
• Test TEMPEST of COTS equipment to identify vulnerabilities for countermeasures.
• Ensure IASRD is applied consistently throughout the IC.

What You’ll Be Doing (We don’t love the bullet points, but we love the work!)

As part of our team, you’ll get to work on a team of TEMPEST engineers and SMEs helping perform TEMPEST testing and provide TEMPEST engineering recommendations to help ensure the security of our nation’s systems . You’ll learn from our existing TEMPEST subject matter experts to grow your knowledge and skills, as well as share your TEMPEST expertise with others. You’ll get to work onsite with the customer, integrated into their team to ensure mission success.

Required Skills

• TEMPEST testing, design, or engineering
• Properly execute TEMPEST test methods and signal analysis
• Record all test results and concerns
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve Emanation Security ( EMSEC ) vulnerabilities
• Work with TEMPEST vendors
• Perform Test set up ambient measurements
• Capture and Analyze qualification test data and results and writing reports
• Work with project teams to evaluate products with respect to NSITSSAM
• Verify TESTEST test requirements by the CTTA
• Attend TEM with crypto device user / customer, CSCM and vendor
• Provide testing of certified cryptographic equipment to discover vulnerabilities in secure systems
• Perform TEMPEST testing of COTS equipment to discover the extent of vulnerabilities for countermeasure purposes
• Validate IASRD is applied consistently throughout the IC

Desired Skills

• IC experience in relevant technical or RF experience preferred. Set up Equipment under test (EUT) enclosure in accordance with Govt specs
