Job summary

Omega Engineering in the United States seeks a QA technician to evaluate temperature accuracy of thermocouples, RTD probes, and related systems using calibration baths and furnaces. You will set up automated calibration systems and document results to ensure quality and reliability.

You will convert data to Celsius or Fahrenheit, enter data into databases, and support engineering and production while adhering to ISO procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years QA experience preferred.
  • Associates Degree or higher in a related field preferred.
  • Ability to read equipment manuals and understand calibration procedures.
  • Strong data entry and computer skills required.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Performs temperature conformance testing of thermocouple probes, RTD probes, and temperature systems per Omega procedures and recognized standards.
  • Sets up computer controlled automated temperature calibration systems for high-temperature calibration in multiple furnaces.
  • Converts raw data to Celsius or Fahrenheit and enters calibration data into databases.
  • Completes test documentation for thermocouple testing and distributes to appropriate departments.
  • Conducts calibrations on customer-owned sensors and maintains ISO procedure documentation.
  • Troubleshoots abnormal calibration results using trend data and visual inspections.
  • Collaborates with management, engineering, and production to ensure quality and reliability standards.
  • Maintains safety and housekeeping per company policies.
