Business Title: TEMP-Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster

Employment Type: Contingent Worker

Location: In-Office or Remote

We are looking for a highly capable Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster to help us on a temporary assignment with an estimated end date of October 9, 2026 and work from anywhere in the United States. This role will adjudicate indemnity workers' compensation claims of higher technical complexity for our customers in the state of CA. As this is a temporary assignment, only government‑mandated benefits will be provided. Contractors are required to accurately record all hours worked and submit timesheets in accordance with company policy. Overtime may be assigned as business needs dictate, and employees are expected to work overtime when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Adjudicate workers' compensation claims of higher technical complexity within significant limits and authority, impacting departmental results.
• Resolve generalized issues requiring a broader set of knowledge.
• Report claims trends and developments to senior management and underwriters.
• Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly, including interviewing all involved parties and analyzing documents to determine coverage.
• Manage claims in litigation.
• Ensure timely completion of daily tasks so cases move toward the best financial outcome and resolution.
• Properly set claim reserves.
• Identify, assign, and coordinate expertise resources to assist in case resolution.
• Prepare reports for file documentation.
• Apply creative solutions to achieve the best financial outcome.
• Negotiate settlements.
• Complete telephone calls and written correspondence with various parties (insured, claimant, etc.).
• Demonstrate strong claim management appreciation and passion.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Minimum five years’ experience adjudicating workers' compensation claims in CA.
2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required, or two or more insurance designations or four additional years of related experience in indemnity claims may substitute for a degree.
3. CA SIP designation or both the WCCA & WCCP designations required.
4. Strong business acumen, understanding how an insurance company makes money and how this role impacts profitability.
