Northeast Healthcare Recruitment, Inc. (NEHCR) seeks an experienced Compliance Auditor to join a healthcare compliance team in Brooklyn, NY. The role conducts risk assessments, performs independent audits, and supports the annual audit plan with regulatory expertise and analytical judgment.

This position evaluates compliance with governmental, contractual, and regulatory requirements, identifies systemic risks, and enables timely, sustainable remediation across multiple sites in New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Political Science, Social Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years healthcare audit experience, preferably within a health insurance plan.
• Strong understanding of Medicare and Medicaid programs strongly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry rules, regulations, guidelines, and compliance requirements.
• Billing and coding experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, statistical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify trends, risks, and compliance issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operational and compliance leadership.
• Ability and willingness to travel to various sites throughout the five boroughs, Westchester, and Long Island.

Responsibilities

• Assist with enterprise-wide compliance risk assessments and contribute to the development and execution of the annual compliance audit plan.
• Design and implement comprehensive, risk-based audit programs to assess compliance with governmental, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform independent audits and monitoring activities in accordance with the approved audit plan, including appropriate scope, testing, and documentation.
• Identify root causes and systemic compliance risks and clearly document observations and findings with defensible supporting evidence.
• Analyze audit results and communicate findings, conclusions, and recommendations effectively to compliance leadership and operational stakeholders.
• Partner with operational leaders to develop, monitor, and validate corrective action plans to ensure timely and sustainable remediation.
• Monitor audit outcomes and trends and report progress and residual risk to compliance leadership and governance committees as appropriate.
• Maintain current knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance.
• Provide targeted compliance education and advisory support to management and other stakeholders.
• Serve as a collaborative, accessible, and solution-oriented compliance resource.
• Conduct site visits at locations throughout the five boroughs of New York City, Westchester, and Long Island.
• Utilize AI-assisted audit tools to support evidence collection, workflow management, and report drafting.
• Conduct AI-specific compliance audits to evaluate the accuracy and regulatory alignment of operational reporting.
• Perform additional duties as assigned in support of Compliance Department goals and responsibilities.

We are seeking an experienced ComplianceAuditor to join a healthcare compliance team in Brooklyn, New York. TheCompliance Auditor will apply advanced regulatory knowledge and analyticaljudgment to conduct risk assessments, perform independent compliance audits,and support the development and execution of the annual compliance audit plan.
