Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to work in a Steel Mill.
• Vocational training as a Hot Pit Loader is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate loaders during slag pit digging, quenching, and maintenance.
• Perform pre-shift inspections and a 360-degree walk-around check of the hot pit loader.
• Coordinate with pot carriers, control dumping, oversee de-skulling and manage quenching pits.
• Follow proper digging techniques to prevent hazards and load haul trucks safely.
• Maintain required certifications and PPE per OSHA and safety programs.
