Job summary

The City of Alexandria is seeking a Temporary Therapeutic Recreation Leader at the Nannie J. Lee Center to support inclusive recreational programs for individuals with disabilities, coordinating activities and supervising staff.

Responsibilities include planning and leading activities, training temporary staff, ensuring safety, and working with a team to deliver high-quality services in the RPCA department.

Qualifications

• Two-year college degree or equivalent required.
• CPR and First Aid certification must be obtained within first three months of employment.
• _valid driver’s license and TB test required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement quarterly program plans for the Therapeutic Recreation Program.
• Conduct structured enrichment and group activities while fostering inclusion.
• Evaluate program measures and adjust as needed for success.
• Lead inclusive, non-competitive activities and encourage positive engagement.
• Provide training and direction to temporary staff, volunteers, and youth workers.
