Job summary

Sonoma County Indian Health Project, Inc. is seeking a registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to support the Dentist during patient visits.

You will prepare operatory areas, sterilize equipment, and maintain supplies and inventories while following safety protocols. Responsibilities include taking quality dental radiographs, using electronic dental records, and providing patient education on oral hygiene and nutrition.

Qualifications

• Requires RDA license or active study toward licensure
• Radiation safety certificate required in CA
• Coronal polishing certification preferred or required
• Experience with IHS and Electronic Dental Records preferred
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, CPR

Responsibilities

• Prepare operatory areas for dental treatment.
• Sterilize and restore operatory areas after use.
• Take quality dental radiographs.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Electronic Dental Records.
• Provide oral hygiene instructions and nutrition counseling to patients.
• Perform other job-related duties as directed.

POSITION SUMMARY:Under the supervision of the Dental Department Director, the registered Dental Assistant (RDA) will aid the Dentist using appropriate dental procedures during patient visits.
