Job summary

A public research university is seeking Temporary Part-Time faculty to teach Computer Technology courses at the 1000 or 2000 level. Position Summary

UNM Los Alamos anticipates hiring Temporary Part-Time faculty to teach online and/or face‑to‑face Computer Technology courses at the 1000 or 2000 level. This is a continuous recruitment beginning in the Summer 2025 semester. Positions are contingent upon the need of each semester as determined by student enrollment levels and current course offering. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Applicants hired from this requisition will be considered for the next requisition.

Anticipated openings include the following subjects: Intro to CADD.

Background

UNM‑Los Alamos is a two‑year branch campus of the University of New Mexico located approximately 90 miles northwest of Albuquerque. UNM‑Los Alamos emphasizes teaching excellence and offers academic transfer courses, as well as vocational and technical courses to the citizens of Los Alamos County and northern New Mexico.

Responsibilities
  • Teach lower division classes in Computer Technology courses, both online and in‑person.
  • Meet with class during assigned times, deliver content, develop assignments, grade assignments, report grades, and assess student learning as outlined by the Program Coordinator.
  • Maintain knowledge of university policies and course content.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology field, or related discipline; or a 4‑year combination of education, training, and tested experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful teaching experience in a post‑secondary institution.
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
  • Online teaching experience.
  • Terminal degree in the discipline or subfield (Ph.D., MFA, etc.).
  • New Mexico residence.
Wages

Adjunct Faculty at the UNM Los Alamos campus are compensated at the rate of $1,135.26 per credit hour.
