The University of New Mexico seeks Adjunct Faculty for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters in the Department of Art. Candidates should have a Master’s or terminal degree and at least 3–5 years of art teaching experience. Responsibilities include developing and teaching courses in Art Education, Art Studio, and Art History. Successful applicants will play a vital role in fostering a diverse academic community.
Adjunct faculty may also qualify for certain UNM benefits. Apply by May 01, 2026, for Fall 2026, or November 01, 2026, for Spring 2027.
The College of Fine Arts Main Campus anticipates hiring Adjunct Faculty to teach in the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters in the Department of Art. Anticipated openings include the following subjects: Art Education, Art Studio, Art History. Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to Department Chair, Lee Montgomery. For best consideration, please apply by this date: May 01, 2026 for Fall Semester 2026, November 01, 2026 for Spring semester 2027. Candidates will remain in the pooled position queue for the 26‑27 academic year or until notified directly.
