Job summary

Family Health Centers of San Diego in San Diego, CA seeks a Billing Clerk II (Temporary) to support high-volume medical billing, post payments, and resolve denials across multiple payors.

You will perform data entry, verify insurance information, and maintain accurate electronic records while delivering timely customer service. Prior billing experience and knowledge of CMS/Medicare/Medicaid is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years of high-volume medical billing experience and familiarity with third-party payors.
• Proficient data entry skills and accurate documentation; basic math and accounting knowledge.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes all required documentation accurately and promptly according to department standards.
• Creates and sends routine and non-routine claim forms for third-party payors; resolves non-routine billing issues.
• Verifies information for accuracy; follows up on accounts receivable and collects payments for self-pay or co-pays.
• Performs data entry with accuracy and timeliness; posts payments and updates accounts with denials.
