A-Line Staffing Solutions in Mount Pleasant, MI seeks a Temp Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for afternoons. You will perform chemical analyses of body fluids, examine cells, and prepare blood components for transfusion in a certified laboratory environment.

Requirements include BLS (AHA), ASCP certification, State license, and at least 1 year MLS experience. On-site schedule 2:00 PM–10:30 PM; benefits after 90 days, 401(k) after 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids to determine normal and abnormal components.
• Analyze blood cells through microscopic techniques to identify and count cells.
• Prepare blood components for transfusion by performing blood group, type, and compatibility tests.
• Process, interpret, and report cultures, antibiotic sensitivities, and microbiology procedures.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory analyzers and equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain lab supplies inventory and forecast needs; verify shipments.
• Ensure QA/QI compliance and maintain a clean, safe working environment adhering to infection control policies.

Job Description: Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids including blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices to determine normal and abnormal components. Analyze blood cells through microscopic techniques to identify and count cells. Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions by performing blood group, type, and compatibility tests. Process, interpret, and report cultures, antibiotic sensitivities, and microbiology procedures. Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory analyzers and equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. Maintain laboratory supplies inventory, forecast needs, and verify receipt of shipments. Ensure compliance with QA/QI standards and maintain a safe, clean working environment adhering to infection control policies.
