Job summary

Georgia Tech in Atlanta is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician to assist with operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory, perform analyses, and manage equipment and supplies.

The role involves interaction with faculty, staff and students; responsibilities include setting up experiments, preparing samples, and maintaining stock records. A high school diploma is required, with up to two years of related experience; a Master’s degree is preferred.

• Prepare and process laboratory samples for use in assigned tests.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Conduct research in high-performance memory-friendly computations.
• Implement, test, and evaluate software artifacts.
• Prepare papers and present results to relevant research communities

Department Information

The College of Computing was established in 1990 as the first such College at a public university and the second in the United States. Since that time, the college has grown into a world-class leader in research and education. The graduate CS program is currently ranked 6th nationally, and the undergraduate program is ranked 5th, by U.S. News and World Report. The College consists of five Schools that provide specialized and general computing education to the entire campus. Job Summary

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge in the use of instrumentation and other lab equipment, laboratory processes and procedures specific to assigned lab. Skills in inventory management and the use of specialized computer applications is required.
