Job summary

The University of Lynchburg is seeking a Temporary Dining Services Service Production Assistant in Dining Services. This role supports food production, service areas, dish room, and catering operations in Lynchburg, VA. The position reports to the Dining Services Manager and is evaluated on performance, attitude, and reliability.

Flexibility to work nights and weekends is required. Candidates should be able to lift up to 40 lbs, maintain cleanliness, follow recipes, and comply with all safety

Responsibilities

• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness per health regs.
• Support Dining Services operations across dish room, prep, service, and catering.
• Prepare dish room for service, ensure equipment and stations are ready.
• Operate dishwashing equipment to maximize cleaning while protecting ware.
• Inspect items for quality and return to storage or service areas.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and floors after each meal.
• Assist with setup, service, and breakdown of catered events.
• Follow recipes, procedures, and supervisor instructions.
• Ensure hot foods stay hot and cold foods stay cold per safety standards.
