The Customer Service Representative serves as a primary point of contact for Bank customers and is responsible for creating a welcoming, helpful, and professional experience. Opens and services accounts, recommends appropriate Bank products and services, answers inquiries/requests, processes transactions, takes ownership of resolving account in an efficient, timely, friendly, and courteous manner by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides clear, polite and professional communication in-person, via phone, chat, and email to internal and external customers
  • Explains the different types of products available to customers and suggests the most appropriate one for their needs.
  • Provides support to all assigned areas of branch operations, including new accounts, teller, and safe deposit box area.
  • Use numerous software applications to perform daily tasks.
  • Perform all Teller Duties including, accepting deposits, cash checks, savings withdrawals, and issue Cashier’s Checks, count cash, Money Orders, Gift Cards. Accept loan payments and issue receipts.
  • Verify endorsement, validity, and balance availability when processing transactions.
  • Processes a variety of transactions using own judgment within limits regarding the validity of transactions presented.
  • Processes mail deposits, night drop, and ATM deposits which are opened under dual control.
  • Maintains a balanced cash drawer and resolves errors or discrepancies as they arise.
  • Processes stop payments and Reg CC holds when needed.
  • Refers questionable transactions to Teller Supervisor.
  • Prepares new account documentation for all types of deposit products, including checking, savings, certificate of deposits and individual retirement accounts.
  • Mails or sends through Synergy the necessary documents to customers requesting to open a new account or change an existing account through Adobe Sign.
  • Makes decisions regarding the opening of new accounts and obtains all required CIP and required documentation.
  • Order checks, endorsement stamps and deposit slips.
  • Provide effective customer service by answering customer questions, investigating & fixing errors or other possible issues that may arise.
  • Assists customers with online banking questions and enrollments. Set up customers with electronic banking services & cash management products.
  • Maintains monthly records of all accounts opened and closed.
  • Performs Customer Call Backs on new account opening satisfaction and log the results of those calls.
  • Assists customers in balancing their DDA accounts and changing pin numbers upon customer’s request.
  • Establishes automatic internal account transfers for customers.
  • Establishes sweep accounts with proper authorization and documentation.
  • Scans all new account documents into the core system.
  • Work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Responsible for adherence to regulations and Bank policies and procedures.
Nonessential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains proper level of new account kits.
  • Prints new accounts reports from Synergy.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

  • Basic mathematical and cash handling skills.
  • Basic keyboard navigation and proficiency in Microsoft Office products (including Outlook, Word & Excel) is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior customer service, sales or banking experience is preferred.

Ability to actively listen, ask effective questions, build rapport and trust, explain information clearly, take ownership of customer needs, remain calm when concerns arise, and work toward practical solutions.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software.

Salary Range: $36,400 - $54,080 depending upon experience
