Job summary

Telhio Credit Union is seeking a Teller to serve as the friendly face for members, handling cash transactions and promoting Telhio products. The role requires accuracy, strong customer service, and the ability to travel as a Float across Columbus-area branches as needed.

The position emphasizes building relationships, spotting member needs, and maintaining confidentiality while delivering exceptional service. Training and growth opportunities are available in a values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–3 years of cash handling experience is preferred.
• Experience in member/customer service is preferred.
• Effective communication and strong organizational skills are needed.
• Background check including credit, drug screen, and criminal history must be passable.

Responsibilities

• Process all member transactions accurately and efficiently (cash withdrawals, deposits, loan payments).
• Inform members about products, services, and current promotions.
• Cross-sell credit union products by identifying needs and guiding to appropriate services.
• Refer members to Relationship Bankers for further discovery sessions.
• Establish and maintain strong member relationships and provide financial guidance.
• Balance cash drawers accurately and comply with security procedures.
• Support audits and participate in dual control functions as required.
• Be willing to travel across the branch footprint as a Float.

Position Summary: The Teller is the "face" of Telhio Credit Union; this individual represents Telhio's image during all interactions with members and potential members. Their role is to create a welcoming, friendly environment for members as soon as they enter the doors or drive through. The teller processes a variety of personal and business financial transactions for members and inform members about other Telhio products and services from which they could benefit. (As a Float) – You will be asked to travel across the entire footprint of our branch locations in Columbus, if needed.

Responsibilities:

• Process all member and non-member transactions accurately and efficiently (i.e. cash withdrawals, deposits, loan payments)
• Inform Members about products, services, and current promotions
• Cross-sell credit union products by answering inquiries; informing members of new services and product promotions; ascertaining customer needs; directing customers to lobby and partner representatives.
• Refer members to Relationship Bankers and Senior Bankers for further discovery sessions
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with members, providing exceptional service and financial guidance.
• Maintains member confidence and protects credit union operations by keeping information confidential, cautioning others regarding potential breaches
• Balance cash drawers accurately
• Complies with credit union operations and security procedures by participating in all dual control functions.
• Witness and assist in audits as requested.
• Performs other tasks as requested by supervisors as they relate to the bank and its functions.
• (As a Float) – They will be asked to travel across the entire footprint of our branch locations in Columbus, if needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned

What you will need:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• 1-3 yrs. - Experience in a cash handling role. (Preferred)
• Less than 1 year – Experience in Member/Customer Service (Preferred)
• Effective communication skills (oral and written)
• Strong organizational skills to provide a high level of accuracy in all transactions
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, ability to operate standard office machines needed to perform the job, such as computer terminal, calculator/adding machine, copier, and fax machine
• Possess team "attitude" and professionalism at all times
• Demonstrates strong relationship building skills
• Demonstrates strong member advisory skills
• Telhio applicants must be able to pass a background check including: Credit, Drug Screen, Bondability, & Criminal Background.
