Job summary

First Bank Chicago in Highland Park, IL seeks a friendly Teller to deliver professional service, process deposits and withdrawals, verify cash and identifications, and ensure accurate records. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of teller or client services experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a strong focus on accuracy and customer care. Fiserv experience is a plus.

This position reports to the Teller ManagerBasic FunctionsProvide friendly and professional service to Bank clients by conducting appropriate transactions and relevant trouble shooting.Essential Duties1. Perform all the essential Teller duties in accordance to Bank policies and procedures:Process checking and savings deposits: verify cash and endorsements, review bank accepted identification for cash back and issue receipts of depositProcess savings withdrawals and cash checks by verifying endorsements, reviewing bank accepted identification and ensure check validityIssue personal money orders and cashier’s checksProcess ATM, incoming mail and Night Depository deposits.Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary to ensure cash limits are not exceededProcess loan payments: verify payment amount and issue receiptsPrepare coin and currency orders for business clientsProcess real estate tax paymentsProcess account closing transactionsGather CTR informationRedeem US Savings BondsRefer clients to other individuals and departments within the BankIdentify opportunities to introduce clients to Bank products and servicesBalance cash drawer2. Perform additional Teller duties in accordance to Bank policies and procedures:Process: Bond Coupons and Foreign ChecksProcess request to buy and sell foreign currencyProcess foreign draftsProcess Savings Bond redemptionsProcess requests for Gift CardsProvide transaction overrides for tellers when needed (For Tellers provided with higher override limits)Participate in the opening and closing of the Bank3.
