Job summary

Kinetic Credit Union seeks a Teller to deliver friendly, efficient service and manage teller transactions accurately at our Columbus, GA location.

You will verify IDs, process deposits/withdrawals, and handle related duties while maintaining compliance and cross-selling opportunities.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes members in a courteous, professional and timely manner.
• Verifies identification on all transactions; handles currency-related tasks and reports as required.
• Completes Currency Transaction Reports for transactions over $10,000.
• Cashes checks per policy and informs members of holds or deposits.
• Processes shared branching transactions for members of participating credit unions.
• Receives share deposits, credit card and loan payments in person.
• Processes transfers and disburses cash or share withdrawals as requested.
• Provides accurate, efficient member transactions and service continuity.
• Issues money orders, processes VISA cash advances, and handles coin counter receipts.
• Cross-sells products and services to increase member relationships.
• Executes sales plan by identifying member needs and referring them to MA.
• Uses eServices (eDeposit, eBranch and Mobile Banking) proficiently.
• Communicates with manager regarding cash needs from vault.
• Completes annual BSA/AML training and remains compliant.
• Follows BSA/AML policies and turns over SAN when applicable.
• Completes Information Security Awareness training as directed.
• Complies with GLBA, Safe Act, Regs B, D, E, CC, Z and other regulatory requirements.
• Participates in Community Involvement goals of the credit union.

Job Title: Teller

Report To: Assistant Financial Center Manager/Financial Center Manager/Sales & Experience Manager/ VP – Chief Operations Officer/EVP/President-CEO

General Purpose:

Receives members with friendly and efficient service. Listens for opportunities and asks the questions to determine members’ needs, refers members to MA to make a sale. Provides teller services to members and processes all types of teller transactions accurately (i.e., loan payments, withdrawals, merchandising items, deposits and answers questions).

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• 1. Greets and welcomes members to the Credit Union in a courteous, professional and timely manner.
• 2. Verifies identification on all transactions required. (Split deposits, withdrawing funds, transferring out of account, cash advances, cashing checks, when completing CTR report, LOC cash advance, requesting information)
• 3. Complete Currency Transaction Reports for applicable transactions of more than $10,000.
• 4. Cashes checks within the credit union’s check cashing policy and informs member of any checks that are deposited and placed on hold.
• 5. Accurately processes shared branching transactions for members of participating shared branching credit unions, in applicable branches.
• 6. Receives share deposits, credit card and loan payments in person.
• 7. Processes transfers and disburses cash or check share withdrawals requested in person.
• 8. Provides comprehensive, prompt, accurate and efficient member transactions.
• 9. Issues money orders and processes VISA cash advance requests and processes payment of coin counter receipts, and processes LOC cash advances.
• 10. Increases relationships per member by cross selling products and services that add value to the member and the credit union.
• 11. Executes sales plan by communicating with the member to uncover potential needs and refers them to a MA.
• 12. Must be technologically advanced in eServices (eDeposit, eBranch and Mobile Banking).
• 13. Communicates discreetly with manager or vault teller when cash is needed from vault.
• 14. Complete annual training on BSA/AML to remain current on any changes to these policies and procedures and remain compliant.
• 15. Completes SAN (Suspicious Activity Narrative) when applicable according to policies and procedures set forth by Kinetic Credit Union, in accordance to BSA/AML regulations, and turns over to appropriate parties in a timely manner.
• 16. Understands and adheres to all Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering policies and procedures set in place to ensure compliance.
• 17. Responsible for completing Information Security Awareness training as directed by management.
• 18. Responsible for complying with GLBA, Safe Act, Regs B, D, E, CC, Z and other regulatory requirements.
• 19. Participates in the Community Involvement goals of the credit union.

Additional Duties/Responsibilities

• 1. Sells money orders and cashier’s checks.
• 2. Processes cash advances according to credit union procedures.
• 3. Manages cash drawer; opens and closes the computer terminal; accounts for assigned cash and accurately balances to the computer cash balance totals.
• 4. Receive and disburse money from Cash Recycler Machines and at end of night balances drawer.
• 5. Secures cash at all times. Signs off computer or Locks when walks away from terminal. Keeps passwords secure at all times.
• 6. Assists will all aspects of the coin machine.
• 7. Performs additional duties as directed by management.

Requirements

Job Qualifications

• This position requires a high school diploma or the equivalent and a commensurate level of language, math and reasoning skills.
• In addition, two years of experience in a related field with similar responsibilities is preferred.
• Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education.

Technology Requirements

• Employees must have smartphone (iOS or Android) to access company applications for tasks and security purposes.
• Employees must install and use designated apps for access control and two-factor authentication to access company systems.

Work Environment/Physical Activities

• Employee must be able to stand and walk for extended lengths of time as well as reach, stoop, or kneel, or to lift and move at least 50 pounds.
• The ability to read small print and color vision may also be required.
• The job calls for a high degree of mental concentration to interpret and act upon a wide range of situations.
• The job requires a degree of attention to details to ensure accuracy of transactions.
• Because of varying branch operating hours, a flexible schedule is required.
• Job requires access to credit union’s network and core data processing system. Core system roles are assigned by Chief Operations Officer.
