Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Workers' Compensation Judge to adjudicate contested claims and ensure fair hearings across the state. This role requires deep legal knowledge, careful case management, and a commitment to public service.

You will guide participants through complex proceedings, issuing timely, well-reasoned decisions. You will perform legal research, manage a busy docket, and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements while handling in-person and telework

Qualifications

Five years of Workers' Compensation practice before administrative agencies or equivalent experience.
Must be an attorney in good standing before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
Must meet PA residency requirements and be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

Conduct hearings, both in-person and virtual, addressing issues under relevant laws.
Manage large caseloads while protecting due process rights of all parties.
Review testimony and documents to determine credibility and prepare findings and orders.
Issue timely final decisions that meet statutory and regulatory requirements.
Perform legal research using appropriate tools to review statutes and case law.
Advise unrepresented litigants and oversee settlement hearings and agreement reviews.
