Job summary

The State of Minnesota is seeking a Senior Attorney to join the Office of Inspector General in the Licensing Division. Based in St. Paul, this full-time exempt role handles complex licensing matters, data privacy issues, and related litigation.

You will provide expert legal analysis, draft reconsiderations, and advise stakeholders across the Department of Human Services and partner offices. Telework eligibility is available for applicants who meet policy requirements.

Qualifications

• JD degree from ABA accredited law school.
• Current Minnesota law license in good standing.
• At least three years’ experience as a practicing attorney.

Responsibilities

• Handle licensing and related due process matters with high judgment and skill.
• Advise Licensing Division management, AG’s Office, and external counsel on complex issues.
• Prepare memoranda, reconsideration decisions, and other legal documents.
• Handle data practices requests and related questions.
• Coordinate with other OIG divisions to assess cross-divisional impacts.
