Job summary

The Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC is seeking a Collections Emergency Program Specialist to help develop policies and procedures for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery across its museums, archives, and libraries.

You will work with the National Collections Program and external partners to advance PRICE program governance and to disseminate emergency management content using SharePoint and other platforms. This is a full-time, permanent role with telework eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting collections emergency policies and procedures outlining staff responsibilities across the disaster life cycle.
• Support development and implementation of PRICE program strategies, standards, and best practices across SI museums, archives, and libraries.
• Collaborate with NCP staff, Smithsonian unit staff, and external colleagues to integrate collections emergency content into stewardship practices.
• Maintain and modify internal information platforms (e.g., SharePoint) to disseminate collections emergency management information.
