Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Battle Creek is seeking a Telemetry Technician for PRN night shifts (7:00 pm – 7:00 am). The role involves monitoring alarms, performing EKG interpretations, and ensuring timely responses in a critical care setting in Battle Creek, MI.

Minimum qualifications include completing the required EKG class and competencies within 30 days of start date, with preferred backgrounds in LPN/RN roles and EKG training. Competitive night/weekend differentials apply.

Qualifications

• Must complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs and required competencies within 30 days of start date.
• Pass other tests/competencies as required by Select Medical.

Responsibilities

• Monitor alarms continuously and respond promptly; verify rhythm identifications and artifacts; maintain EKG monitor alarms.
• Continuously observe all monitors and respond to alarms promptly and appropriately.
• Perform EKG interpretations: rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTc, ST segment, wave form alterations.
• Ensure strip interpretations are validated by RN.

Location: Battle Creek, Michigan (6th floor of Bronson Battle Creek Hospital)

Telemetry Technician - PRN Nightshift

Hours: 7:00 pm - 7:00 am

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• You will assume responsibility for continuously watching and ensuring appropriate and timely responses to alarms. Verifying correct identification of basic rhythms, lethal rhythms and artifact; maintaining EKG monitor alarms and responding to all alarms as needed.
• Continuously observing all monitors assigned and responding to alarms promptly and appropriately.
• Completing EKG interpretations including: rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, wave form alterations, and rhythm interpretation.
• Ensuring strip interpretations are validated by RN.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs and required competencies on education platform within 30 days of start date in position and pass other tests/competencies as required by Select Medical.

Preferred qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred background as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)*, Licensed Paramedic or RN nursing student with EKG training (*LPNs are limited to working as telemetry tech only.)
