Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - West TN in Jackson, TN is seeking a Telemetry Technician to monitor patient rhythms and alarms across day and night shifts. The position offers a per diem/PRN schedule with 12-hour shifts and compensation of $21.00 per hour, reflecting a healthcare setting focused on post-ICU care for critically ill patients.

You will monitor EKG activity, verify rhythm classifications with RN support, interpret basics such as rate, PRI, QRS, QT, and ensure alarm responses are timely.

Qualifications

• Must complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs and required competencies within 30 days of start date.
• Pass required tests/competencies as determined by Select Medical.

Responsibilities

• Continuously watching monitors and responding to alarms promptly and appropriately.
• Verifying correct identification of basic and lethal rhythms and artifact; maintaining EKG monitor alarms and responding as needed.
• Completing EKG interpretations including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QT, ST segment, wave form alterations, and rhythm interpretation.
• Ensuring strip interpretations are validated by RN.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or RN background (preferred)

Minimum Qualifications

• Must complete and pass EKG class for Monitor Techs and required competencies on education platform within 30 days of start date in position and pass other tests/competencies as required by Select Medical.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred background as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)*, Licensed Paramedic or RN nursing student with EKG training (*LPNs are limited to working as telemetry tech only.)
