Job summary

Northwell Health in New York is seeking a Telemetry Technician/Nursing Attendant to observe cardiac monitors and alert clinicians to rhythm changes. The role includes obtaining baseline strips, recognizing arrhythmias, reporting findings, and maintaining equipment readiness across monitored patients.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma, complete LIJMC training, and meet experience or coursework requirements in telemetry or CCU-related programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must successfully complete LIJMC’s training program.
• At least 1 year in hospital as Nursing Attendant/Telemetry Technician, or
• Completion of Advanced Medical Technician program, or CCU course.

Responsibilities

• Observes cardiac and other monitors on patients.
• Recognizes arrhythmias and obtains documentary strip.
• Reports all arrhythmias to nurse responsible for patient.
• Obtains a baseline strip each shift on all monitored patients.
• Replaces electrode pads, wires and batteries as needed.
• Obtains EKGs as necessary.
• Ensures emergency equipment is cleaned and checked.
• Performs related duties as required.

Job description

• * Replaces electrode pads, wires and batteries as needed.

• * Assures that all emergency equipment is cleaned and checked.
• Performs related duties, as required.

Job Qualification

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Must successfully complete LIJMC’s training program.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in a hospital setting functioning as a Nursing Attendant/Telemetry Technician, required. OR Successful completion of an Advanced Medical Technician program, required. OR Successful completion of a CCU course, required.
• Ability to operate cardiac monitors and EKG machine, required.

Ability to communicate effectively, and follow written and/or oral instructions.
