Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a detail-oriented teammate to join the Telemetry team in Wisconsin. This part-time role requires shifts including 0630–1900 and 1830–0700, totaling 24 hours per week, with rotating holidays.

The position involves telemetry monitoring, patient data recording, and coordination with nursing staff. Successful candidates have telemetry training within 6–12 weeks, strong communication and organizational skills, and must pass competency requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain constant surveillance on telemetry monitors.
  • Notify RN of changes in patient heart rhythm.
  • Record patient's heart rhythm hourly and as changes occur.
  • Run telemetry strips for RN per policy.
  • Notify nursing staff of telemetry signal interruptions.
  • Provide daily inventory to maintain transmitters and lead wires.
  • Handle confidential medical information regularly.

Looking for detail-oriented teammate to join our team. Available to work one 12 hour day 0630-1900- and one 12-hour night shift 1830-0700 per week, telemetry and health unit coordinator duties. Rotating holiday rotation.

Major Responsibilities
  • Responsible for maintaining constant surveillance on the telemetry monitors.
  • Responsible for promptly notifying the Registered Nurse with any changes in the patients heart rhythm.
  • Records patient's heart rhythm hourly and as changes occur.
  • Runs telemetry strips for the Registered Nurse based on policy and procedure.
  • Notifies nursing staff promptly when there is an interruption in the telemetry signal.
  • Provides daily inventory to maintain the correct number of transmitters and lead wires.
  • Handles confidential information on a regular basis, usually of a medical nature (diagnosis, etc.).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Successful completion of telemetry education and competency completion within 6 - 12 weeks of hire. Must maintain competency thereafter.

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must have functional speech, hearing and vision.
  • May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and radiation hazards.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
