Job summary

Aurora Health Care in Oshkosh seeks a Telemetry Monitor Tech with high attention to detail to oversee continuous heart rhythm surveillance. You will alert RNs to rhythm changes and record data hourly, ensuring accurate strip runs and adherence to policy.

The role requires excellent communication, strong organization, and ability to prioritize tasks in a busy clinical setting. You will also manage equipment inventory and handle confidential medical information daily.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of telemetry education and competency within 6-12 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance on telemetry monitors.
• Promptly notify the Registered Nurse of any changes in heart rhythm.
• Record patient's heart rhythm hourly and as changes occur.
• Run telemetry strips for the Registered Nurse per policy.
• Notify nursing staff promptly if telemetry signal is interrupted.
• Provide daily inventory to maintain transmitters and lead wires.
• Handle confidential medical information routinely.

Major Responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining constant surveillance on the telemetry monitors.
• Responsible for promptly notifying the Registered Nurse with any changes in the patients heart rhythm.
• Records patient's heart rhythm hourly and as changes occur.
• Runs telemetry strips for the Registered Nurse based on policy and procedure.
• Notifies nursing staff promptly when there is an interruption in the telemetry signal.
• Provides daily inventory to maintain the correct number of transmitters and lead wires.
• Handles confidential information on a regular basis, usually of a medical nature (diagnosis, etc.).

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

• None Required.

• High School Graduate.

• No experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Successful completion of telemetry education and competency completion within 6 - 12 weeks of hire. Must maintain competency thereafter.
