Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (certificate).
• Current California RN license required.
• One year acute care experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA).
• NIHS Stroke certifications preferred.
• Basic Dysrhythmia certificate preferred.
• Chemo certification preferred.
• Proficient in oral and written English communication.
• Ability to practice leadership, interpersonal skills, teamwork, quality improvement and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Sets priorities according to patient care needs.
• Completes initial assessments & reassessments of patient care needs.
• Documents care on patients according to diagnosis and standards of practice.
• Reassesss as patient condition warrants and prepare transfer and discharge as appropriate.
• Recognizes signs of potential emergencies and initiates appropriate actions.
• Recognizes indicators and reporting of abuse.
• Practices National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG).
• Accesses risk and prevents patient falls & skin breakdown.
• Performs nursing interventions to meet patient care needs.
• Coordinates total nursing care using the plan of care for continuity.
• Teaches and documents patient education with discharge instructions.
