Job summary

Emerus is seeking an experienced Inpatient Registered Nurse (Telemetry/ICU/Step-Down) for a full-time day shift at our new 16-bed facility in Willow Park, TX. You will assess, plan, direct, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and telemedicine providers.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of RN experience in high-acuity inpatient settings, with competencies in cardiac care and respiratory therapies. BLS/ACLS are required; PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Nursing Diploma required; BSN, preferred.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• 2+ years RN experience in Telemetry/ICU, or related positions.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred.
• English fluency required; clearances may be required.
• Act 33/Act 73 clearances (PA) may be required before start.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize and provide proficient, age-specific nursing care using advanced clinical knowledge.
• Follow physician's orders in delivering nursing care.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records.
• Adhere to infection control, isolation procedures and aseptic techniques.
• Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing according to policies and CLIA/COLA.
• Perform admission, discharge and transfer procedures.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for procedures; assist others as needed.
• Comply with state Board of Nursing standards.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other duties as required.

Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to perform the primary functions of a nurse in assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience caring for higher-acuity inpatient patients in a fast-paced hospital environment, with the ability to assess, prioritize, and respond to changing patient conditions.
• Demonstrated competency managing cardiac, hypertensive, and insulin infusions, along with strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills.
• Experience supporting patients requiring advanced respiratory therapies, including BiPAP and high-flow oxygen.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams, telemedicine providers, and virtual communication platforms.
• Confidence caring for critically ill patients and willingness to support short-term stabilization efforts, including ventilated patients awaiting transfer to a higher level of care.

Essential Job Functions

• Plan, prioritize, and provide proficient, age-specific and developmentally/specialty appropriate nursing care by applying advanced specialty clinical nursing knowledge and skills and for ensuring the comfort and safety of patients/families
• Follow physician's orders in the delivery of nursing care
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times
• Adhere to required infection control, isolation procedures and aseptic techniques in the delivery of patient care
• Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations
• Perform admission, discharge and transfer procedures
• Assemble equipment and supplies for various diagnostic or treatment procedures in the specialty service area; perform or assist others with procedures or treatments
• Handle care in accordance with legal, hospital/facility, departmental policies and procedures, and established standards of nursing care and practice, as defined by the Board of Nursing for that State.

Other Job Functions

• Perform all Quality Assessment activities assigned and document
• Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Nursing Diploma required; BSN, preferred
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions, required
• 2+ years full-time RN experience in Telemetry/ICU, or 2+ years combination experience in related healthcare positions, required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, required; PALS strongly preferred (ENPC certification from ENA may be substituted for PALS certification)
• Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
• Pennsylvania RN's: Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance), Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or must be obtained prior to start date.
