Job description

Provide expert care on Telemetry units in Boise, ID, focusing on cardiac and general telemetry patients with post‑procedural experience. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic work environment on two units: Floor 3 with 20 beds specializing in cardiac care and Floor 7 with 35 beds covering general telemetry cases. Nurses will float between these floors as needed, requiring flexibility and strong assessment skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips twice per shift, documenting findings accurately.
• Manage patients with cardiac diagnoses including post‑op open heart, TAVRs, ablations, pacemakers, and other medical telemetry conditions.
• Administer and titrate drips such as heparin, set‑rate cardiac gtts, amiodarone, cardizem, dopamine, and dobutamine.
• Collaborate with charge nurses who typically do not take patient assignments and utilize crisis and resource nurses as needed.
• Assist Respiratory Therapy with high‑flow oxygen treatments and troubleshooting ventilators when required.
• Float between multiple telemetry units and sister facilities to maintain optimal staffing.
• Participate in a flexible schedule with 7a‑7p shifts, including 5‑6 weekend shifts per 6‑week schedule and occasional holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Active RN license with at least 2 years of telemetry nursing experience.
• Post‑procedural cardiac experience required (cath lab, ablations, open heart surgery).
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips confidently.
• Experience in PCU or stepdown units preferred.
• Willingness to float and take flexible assignments.
• Basic familiarity with insulin drip management preferred; training available if needed.
