Job summary

Epic Travel Staffing is seeking a Travel Nurse RN for a Telemetry PCU assignment in Springfield, IL. The position runs for 13 weeks with 36 hours per week, nights, and a daily rate of pay that equates to $2,097 weekly gross.

The role requires an IL RN license, at least 2 years of telemetry/cardio experience, and proficiency in Cerner charting and cardiac monitoring. Travel professionals welcome; locals accepted.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license (or actively applying for IL license).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience required.
• Experience in MS/Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings.
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills: interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring on unit and remote.
• Cerner charting experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• NIHSS preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Level I trauma experience preferred.
• Cardiovascular Case Skills/Experience: Post cardiac angiogram, Post MI, Pre/Post cardiac cath, Pre/Post cardiac surgery, Sheath removal, TR band
• Gastrointestinal Case Skills/Experience: Feeding tube care and management
• Genitourinary/Renal Case Skills/Experience: Pre/Post hemodialysis management, renal failure
• IV Therapy & Phlebotomy Skills/Experience: Accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs
• Medication Skills/Experience: Heparin protocols, manage cardiac drips (no titration), manage vasoactive drips (no titration), PCA, titrate cardiac drips, titrate vasoactive drips
• Neurological/Psychiatric Case Skills/Experience: CVA, experience with surgical drains
• Respiratory Case Skills/Experience: Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur‑evac), external CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, nasal cannula, oxygen masks, portable oxygen tank, non‑invasive airway management
• Professional Topics and Skills: Isolation precautions, wound care, wound vac

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside nursing in Telemetry PCU and related units.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to dysrhythmias.
• Utilize Cerner charting for documentation and orders.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for care planning.
• Float to similar units as needed.
