Job summary

BronxCare Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist with patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Key responsibilities include collecting specimens, providing general care, monitoring telemetry, and performing EKGs and phlebotomy as needed.

Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, experience in a healthcare setting, and relevant certifications. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years experience in an acute/chronic or ambulatory care setting.
• Experience in Acute Psychiatry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects specimens as needed.
• Assists and accompanies patients during admission or discharge.
• Performs general care activities for patients.
• Records patients’ personal care and physical findings.
• Performs various tasks according to department needs.
• Performs EKG, monitors ECG telemetry equipment and Phlebotomy.
