Job summary

Trinity Health at St. Mary Medical Center in Bucks County is seeking a Nurse Assistant for the MG4 Telemetry unit. This full-time position supports RN staff with direct and indirect patient care on a 7am–7:30pm Day Shift, in a 47-bed telemetary unit with a 5:1–6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Responsibilities include feeding, intake/output, specimen collection, and hourly rounding to ensure safety. Requirements: high school diploma, PA CNA registry or clinical rotations, BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• PA Nurse Aide Registry (CNA) OR completed a minimum of one semester of clinical rotations in an accredited nursing program required.
• 1 year of relevant experience and/or relevant certification (EMT) is considered in lieu of required certification/clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities following RN instructions, physician orders, policies, procedures and regulations.
• Obtain supplies from designated supply rooms to assure patient rooms are ready for admission and cleared when discharged or transferred.
• Demonstrates ability to feed patients and records intake and output.
• Demonstrates competence with collection of specimens (urine routine, clean catch, foley, stools for C-diff).
• Applies heat and cold packs, ace wraps, slings, binders and orthopedic devices as needed.
• Participates in hourly rounding to ensure patient safety and reduce harm; assists with toileting and safety needs.
• Seeks assistance of Nurse Manager for conflict resolution when needed.
