Job summary

Northwest Health is seeking a Monitor Technician to provide continuous surveillance of telemetry monitors, document patient rhythms, and support safe care delivery. The role requires interpreting EKG rhythms, recognizing arrhythmias, and communicating findings to the healthcare team.

Candidates should have completion of a telemetry/EKG course and 0–2 years of clerical or clinical experience. The position emphasizes timely reporting, equipment troubleshooting, and adherence to safety protocols;

Qualifications

• Completion of a telemetry or EKG interpretation course during orientation period required.
• 0-2 years of clerical and/or clinical experience in a medical setting required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms at established intervals.
• Identify rhythm changes and promptly notify nursing staff of potentially life-threatening arrhythmias.
• Maintain effective communication with peers, staff, physicians, and leaders for care coordination.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with monitoring equipment; escalate unresolved problems to Bio-med or IT as directed.
• Organize and track monitoring equipment during shifts and ensure proper configuration for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Ensure accurate lead placement and electrode application for optimal telemetry monitoring.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
