Job summary

The Monitor Technician position supports the patient care team by reading and interpreting cardiac monitors and arrhythmias, transcribing orders, and maintaining accurate logs in the Imed system. You will work under the direction of a licensed nurse and ensure timely transmission of physician orders to ancillary departments.

Ideal candidates have completed Basic Arrhythmia training, basic computer skills, and a current BLS Level C certification; prior Monitor Technician experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of Basic Arrhythmia course and pass dysrhythmia test.
• Monitor Technician experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support Level C (Healthcare Provider) certification.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and timely transcribes all orders from the chart to order entry in Imed including CCU orders and DOU emergency orders.
• Utilizes computer skills for accurate unit census and order entry, and maintains all log books, (i.e. census, telemetry, consults).
