Responsibilities

• Confirms the nurse caring for the telemetry patient at initial placement and updates every shift.
• Observes cardiac monitors, notes alarm variations, and reports changes to nursing staff.
• Prints and interprets cardiac strips at admission, once per shift, and when rhythm abnormalities occur.
• Discontinues telemetry per orders; cleans transmitter and stores leads after use.
• Monitors telemetry equipment and reports outages; follows the hospital's emergency plan.
• Performs clerical duties, processes supply requisitions, and maintains department cleanliness.
