East Houston Medical Center is seeking a vigilant, clinicallyastute, and service-drivenTelemetry / IMU Monitor Techniciantojoin our acute care team. This position plays a vital role in safeguardingpatient outcomes through continuous cardiac rhythm observation, promptrecognition of clinical changes, and timely communication with the nursing andprovider teams in the Telemetry and Intermediate Medical Unit environment.

Position Summary

The Telemetry / IMU Monitor Technician is responsible for thecontinuous observation, interpretation, and documentation of cardiac monitoringdata for patients requiring telemetry surveillance in an acute care hospitalsetting.This role supports patient safety by identifying normal andabnormal cardiac rhythms, escalating urgent findings without delay, andmaintaining monitoring accuracy in a fast-paced clinical environment.

  • Continuouslyobserve telemetry monitors and maintain awareness of assigned patientcardiac rhythms and monitored activity.
  • Recognize,interpret, and promptly communicate rhythm changes, dysrhythmias, andother clinically significant findings to the appropriate licensed nurse orprovider.
  • Obtain,print, label, and maintain rhythm strips at required intervals and duringnotable cardiac events in accordance with unit and hospital standards.
  • Verifyproper function of telemetry equipment, leads, cables, and alarm settings,and report equipment concerns immediately for resolution.
  • Maintainaccurate, timely, and legible documentation related to telemetrymonitoring responsibilities.
  • Supportunit workflow through professional communication, coordination withclinical staff, and completion of related clerical or monitoring supportduties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

This position supports a 24-hour hospital operation and mayrequire day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday availability based ondepartmental needs.The role demands continuous visual attention, strongsituational awareness, and consistent collaboration with nursing andinterdisciplinary teams.
