Albany Medical Center is seeking a Monitor Tech I on a per diem basis to support Cardio-Respiratory Services. Responsibilities include recording EKGs, transmitting data to the MUSE system, and handling telemetry equipment and strips for patient monitoring.

Candidate should have a high school diploma, BCLS upon hire, and 1–3 years of patient experience preferred. This role supports a fast-paced hospital environment and adheres to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of patient experience preferred.
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) upon hire required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsabilités

• Record electrocardiograms (EKGs) for patients aged from newborn to geriatric.
• Transmit EKGs from cart to MUSE EKG Computer System using patient identifiers.
• Place telemetry transmitter packs on patients.
• Communicate with monitor technicians to verify signal.
• Deliver cardiac rhythm strips from monitoring station to nursing units and post in unit locations during downtime.
• Troubleshoot telemetry transmitter packs (replace electrodes, batteries, wires, etc.).
• Assist in search and retrieval of telemetry transmitter packs and cardiac pacemakers.
