Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to support patients under RN direction. You will provide compassionate basic care, assist with transport, and contribute to the patient’s plan of care as a vital team member.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program, upon hire
• WA CNA certification, upon hire
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification, upon hire
• Six months related work experience, preferred
• Experience in a hospital setting, preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides patient personal care/hygiene and physical comfort, including feeding, bathing, shaving, changing clothes, bed making, ambulation, lifting, turning, moving, transferring, skin care and bowel/bladder elimination.
• Performs, monitors, reports and documents all clinical activities within scope of practice; observes and reports changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Assists nursing staff in admission, discharge and transfer of patient and transports patient using wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Maintains a neat and organized work environment; orders, stocks and replenishes supplies and equipment; reports problems with supplies or equipment.
• Maintains a safe work and patient environment, adhering to Safety, Risk Management, Regulatory Standards and infection prevention.
