Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Cardiac Monitor Specialist to provide continuous observation of telemetry ECG patterns, ensuring patient safety and timely nursing intervention. The role emphasizes vigilant monitoring and accurate reporting within a collaborative care environment.

Responsibilities include responding to alarms, documenting rhythm changes, and coordinating with the care team while maintaining telemetry equipment and adherence to department protocols for optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification within 90 days.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Continuous observation of monitored ECG patterns and pulse oximetry as ordered; set up, calibrate and maintain alarms.
• Recognize changes in rate, rhythm or pattern and report arrhythmias to the care team per protocol.
• Handle communications and assist staff per established procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of central monitoring station operations.
• Maintain alarm systems and respond to monitor alarms per protocol.
• Identify and troubleshoot routine monitor issues and escalate as needed.
