Qualifications

  • NWSA TTT1 certification.
  • First Aid AED/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist tower construction/maintenance: assemble/erect towers, install antennas, mount hardware, and secure coax.
  • Follow OSHA/EHS guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues through diagnostics and repairs.
  • Conduct RF/fiber tests to verify system performance.
  • Read construction drawings and RF data sheets to ensure proper installation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Install RF/antenna components on major carrier sites.

Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for performing construction, repair, and maintenance of towers and accompanying structures. This includes system testing, rigging, grounding, welding, coax/fiber handling, and connector installation. Operates independently on moderately complex systems. Holds certifications in climbing/rescue, rigging, PPE usage, and specialized equipment operation.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with team members and site supervisors to support tower construction and maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion of project milestones, including assembling/erecting towers, installing antennas, mounting hardware, installing coax and connectors, grounding, testing, positioning, and optimizing antennas and lines.
  • Follow OSHA and company-specific EHS guidelines while performing tasks, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues using diagnostic methods and repair techniques.
  • Conduct equipment testing, including sweep testing, Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing, and fiber testing, to confirm system performance and compliance with specifications.
  • Installation of RF and antenna system components such as antennas, TMA's, RRU's, diplexers, coax, hybrids, grounding, supports, weatherproofing, connectors, hardware, etc.) knowledge and experience of major carrier sites including upgrades, MODS, NSB, Electrical, Civil, DAS, Small Cells, etc.
  • Actively participate in development and training opportunities to build a solid understanding of telecom systems, industry tools, and equipment.
  • Read and interpret basic construction drawings, RF data sheets, and other documentation to ensure proper installation and system alignment.

Minimum Education And Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in telecommunications or tower construction.
  • OSHA 10
  • NWSA TTT1 certification
  • First Aid AED/CPR
Preferred And Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding construction drawings, RF data sheets, and advanced electrical concepts.
  • Certifications:
  • Have knowledge of and ability to meet and pass all DOT requirements
  • NWSA TTT1 certification required
  • OSHA10 Certification required
  • First Aid AED/CPR required
  • Ability to obtain required certifications such as RF awareness, competent climber, competent rescuer, ANSI 10.48 competent rigging, fall protection awareness, crane spotter/signal person, etc.
Skills Required
  • Strong communication skills to articulate technical issues and progress both verbally and electronically.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions on moderately complex tasks.
  • Advanced understanding of construction drawings, RFDS, and telecom equipment.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities to address system issues effectively.

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel Required
  • Ability to work in varied weather conditions except for unsafe or extreme conditions.
  • Ability to travel and work in remote locations outside of metropolitan areas.
  • Desire and physical ability to climb structures over 300 feet while carrying loads in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Travel is required 50% of the time.
