Job Description:A Telecommunications Engineer team member is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting network infrastructure, including Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems. This role involves diagnosing and resolving network and VoIP issues, configuring hardware and software, providing technical support to users, and ensuring the network operates efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:- Cisco Call Manager Administration:
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco Call Manager systems, including user provisioning, call routing, and system updates.
- VoIP Phone Management:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco VoIP phones, including user configurations, adding/deleting phones, and maintaining phone settings.
- Cisco Unity Management:
- Administer Cisco Unity voicemail systems, adding/deleting users, setting up unified messaging, and troubleshooting voicemail issues.
- Network Infrastructure Support:
- Perform network cable runs, install network drops, and troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues related to VoIP.
- Troubleshooting and Resolution:
- Diagnose and resolve telecommunications issues, providing timely and effective solutions to ensure system uptime and performance.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work with other IT teams, such asthe Help Desk and network teams, to resolve issues and ensure a seamless user experience.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Stay up-to-date:
- Keep abreast of new Cisco technologies and best practices in telecommunications.
Key Requirements:- Must be willing to travel. This position requires performing work at various OCC sites around the nation.
- Work shifts -if not on travel, the preference is for the worker to fulfill morning position – 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Evening shift coverage can be discussed – 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Qualifications:- 3+ years experience working with VOIP Call manager.
- 1-3+ years experience with Network and Cisco routers/switches.
- 1-3+ years experience performing network cable pulls, network drops and fiber connectivity troubleshooting.
- 1-3+ years experience working with ISP, demarc, fiber, POTS and Fax line connections.
- Able to efficiently process individual tasks quickly and accurately with attention to detail.
- Driven to constantly learn and adapt to new technologies and solutions.
- Interpersonal skills in all interactions and communication with co-workers, vendors, and customers
PreferredQualifications:- CCNA or VOIP certification.
