Job summary

Planned Systems International (PSI) is seeking a Telecommunications/Cabling Technician to support O&M for mission-critical Voice Systems across the DC Metro area. You will install, maintain, and repair fiber and copper cabling and related components, ensuring adherence to industry standards and security requirements.

This full-time role requires a Secret clearance, 3+ years of data networking experience, and strong collaboration with customers, vendors, and facility staff to deliver reliable

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of data networking and cable installation experience.
• Industry certification in Data and Voice Cable (copper & fiber) required.
• Must hold Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Offer comprehensive technical assistance spanning telecommunications equipment, installation, and administration.
• Adhere to industry standards and fire-stop/cable management best practices where applicable.
• Formulate and uphold processes for identification and labeling of voice/data/fiber cable systems.
• Maintain inventory and documentation per TIA/EIA, TIA 1179, and BICSI standards, including schematics.
• Ensure all documentation is completed and submitted.
• Provide strong customer service, coordinating with clients, vendors and facility staff to resolve cabling issues.
