Job summary

The Telecom/Network Engineer at Mayo Clinic will design, configure, manage, troubleshoot, support and implement the enterprise Telecom/Network Infrastructure. You will also perform limited project management and coordinate efforts with support staff to meet business needs.

Under supervision, you will participate in architectural decisions, assist with deployments, manage complex issues, and communicate status to stakeholders. Teamwork and strong analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of telecom/network concepts and the 7-layer OSI model.
• Experience with telecom/network management and monitoring tools.
• Understanding of desktop and server operating systems is desirable.
• Ability to work with minimal direction and in a team environment.
• Strong customer focus with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills with analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Participate in decisions on technical direction, architecture design, and product selection for the enterprise telecom/data network.
• Assist with deployment of telecom/network technology.
• Plan and lead small projects and coordinate internal and external staff with the customer and business needs.
• Communicate project status to project proponents and stakeholders.
• Represent Telecommunications and Networks to committees as needed.
