Job summary

SLG Services, Inc. is seeking a Telecom Lineman to perform aerial construction, installation, and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optic and coax, by climbing poles and operating bucket trucks.

You will work as part of a crew to build and maintain overhead plant in accordance with company and industry standards. This role requires a valid driver's license, ability to lift 70 lbs, willingness to learn, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs on a regular basis.
• Willingness to learn, follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist crew with loading, unloading, and staging materials, tools, and equipment.
• Perform trenching, digging, and backfilling for underground placement.
• Assist with conduit placement and fiber/blowing operations under foreman.
• Set up and maintain traffic control and signage.
• Assist linemen with aerial cable placement and equipment staging from ground.
• Operate hand tools and light equipment as trained.
• Maintain clean, safe work site and restore areas after completion.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements (OSHA, NESC).
• May climb poles under supervision once trained and certified.
